Senior System Administrator / IT Administrator (m/f/d) In-house

As a Senior IT Administrator, you’ll be responsible for the BAYOONET Group’s IT infrastructure for approximately 360 employees across our locations—from architecture and operations to further development. You’ll independently manage our infrastructure projects, serve as the technical escalation point of contact at the third level, and share your knowledge with our junior administrators. Our support team handles first- and second-level tickets—you’ll step in when issues require in-depth technical expertise.

Your responsibilities will include, among other things:

• Architecture & Infrastructure
  • Responsibility for the design, operation, and further development of our IT infrastructure in a dynamically growing company
  • Operation and strategic expansion of multiple multi-node Windows failover clusters for Hyper-V
  • Administration of our firewalls and the network connectivity of our locations
  • Capacity and lifecycle planning for servers, storage, and network components
• Systems, Cloud & Automation
  • Responsibility for our core services: Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Azure DevOps
  • Technical consulting and implementation for cloud deployments (Azure and AWS)
  • Support for our developers in deploying workloads both on-premises and in the cloud
  • Automation of recurring operational tasks using PowerShell
• Operational Reliability, Backup & IT Security
  • Implementation and maintenance of the backup infrastructure using Veeam Backup & Replication, including regular recovery tests
  • Monitoring of the entire IT infrastructure using PRTG Network Monitor, as well as setting up a comprehensive alerting system
  • Hardening of our systems, as well as identity and access management (conditional access, MFA, privileged accounts)
  • Contributing to IT requirements stemming from our Group’s regulated environment (ISO 27001)
• Projects, Third Level & Team
  • Independent management of IT infrastructure projects—from conception through selection to rollout
  • Technical escalation point at the third level for complex issues
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to our junior administrators
  • Evaluation of new technologies and development of concrete recommendations for our IT roadmap

What You Should Bring to the Table

• At least 3 years of experience administering Windows server and client environments
• Completed vocational training or a degree in IT (e.g., IT Specialist for System Integration (m/f/d)) or a comparable IT background
• In-depth knowledge of the entire Active Directory Domain Services stack as well as Microsoft 365
• Solid experience with virtualization (Hyper-V, failover clusters) as well as with backup and monitoring solutions
• Proficiency with networks, routing, VPNs, and firewalls
• Experience with automation using PowerShell
• Experience leading infrastructure projects independently
• Excellent written and spoken German, as well as good English skills

It would be great if you also have

• Experience with Azure and/or AWS
• Knowledge of client management and software deployment
• Experience in regulated environments (ISO 27001) or a willingness to learn about them
• Certifications in Microsoft, networking, or security
